The Little Mermaid

Good day to you! I have been very busy recently working for a few months on a lovely picture book for Miles Kelly publishers. I illustrated 'The Little Mermaid' (along with the cover). The book is part of their 'Princess Time' range. I had so much fun working on this beautiful book :) All of the artwork was painted in acrylics (for page 23 I used acrylic and collage).

I had a great time researching all of the sea creatures and sea life. Last summer I visited The Whitby Museum , they have a great exhibition of sea life and creatures. Here are some photos which I took for research.

I also visited a lovely shopping arcade in Whitby which has plenty of seashells for sale!

Fun at the Fair!

Below is a small illustration I was recently commissioned to do for a friend. It was for her friend's little girl. I was provided with the name of the little girl, the choice of medium and the size. She wanted the illustration to be on a 'circus theme' and similar to the little water colour I made in 2014. (See below). I like the fragility of this painting :)

Princess!

Yipeee! Another book from Miles Kelly featuring my artwork is published! It is the 'Classic Treasury Princess Tales' and features three small interior illustrations. One of which is 'The Frog Prince' which I illustrated for the series of book covers for 'The Brother's Grimm Collection bag'. As mentioned earlier on in my blog, in this book I also illustrated the 'ribbon' borders and created pretty coloured backgrounds to hold the text. Hans Christian Andersen Fairy Tales

Hello and Happy New Year! I have been so busy lately, but here are some new updates from me.
To coincide with my book covers of 'The Brother's Grimm Collection bag' from Miles Kelly, last year I also illustrated three book covers for 'The Hans Christian Andersen Collection Bag'. I illustrated 'The Brave Tin Soldier', The Ugly Duckling' and 'The Little Mermaid'.

As with 'The Brother's Grimm Collection bag', these books were also presented in a beautiful bag featuring the work of illustrator Laurence Cleyet-Merle. 

I illustrated three out of the five book covers.
